Is Apple Making an iTunes App for Android - Really?

According to some reports, it comes to know that the Apple could launch an iTunes application for Android devices. Before, there was no inkling of a thought in the presence of Steve Jobs, but the things are completely change under the Tim Cook command.


Some new reports are declaring that Apple might launch an iTunes application for Android in order to combat ailing digital music downloads. In past couple of years, it seems that the Apple’s revenue from iTunes music sales have been reducing and the company is looking forward to open its music store up to Android devices in order to help in increasing income.

Moreover, Apple is also looking to transform iTunes into a more modern service so that the company can boost the income. As the company said to be in the examining stages of generating a subscription-based model to rival the likes of spotify and Google Play Music.

In any case, if Apple launches an iTunes application for Android users, it may attract lots of new customers, who are using Android devices and the Google Play store to buy their desired music.

We all know that all the Android users have access to the Google Play Music service as well as Amazon’s digital music store, therefore if Apple introduces a new music store for them; it is not necessarily guarantee million of new users. Moreover, the company is also looking forward to launch a paid music subscription service to opponent the likes of Pandora, Google Play Music and Spotify.

According to three people, who are familiar with the talks, said “Apple has “opened investigative talks” with senior music label executives about a potential on-demand streaming service”.

We all know that in the US, the company already providing a free, ad-supported radio service that known as iTunes Radio, but it makes the mass music money from the single and album sales through iTunes.

Moreover, Apple associates to around 40% of the US music revenue, and the company is hoping that such big effort on music labels can bring huge effect on its business.

"They are feeling out some people at labels on thoughts about transitioning its customers from iTunes proper to a streaming service," saidone major label source. "So when you buy a song for $1.29, and you put it in your library, iTunes might send an e-mail pointing out that for a total of, say, $8 a month you can access that song plus all the music in the iTunes store. It's all in the 'what if' stage." Still, there is no official announcement from the company, so all the android users can wait till the company uncover the reality.
