Google & Foxconn to Collaborate to bring Robotics OS

As we all know that last year Google has initiated to purchase numerous robotic companies comprising lots of big names such as Boston Dynamics, Redwood Robotics, Industrial Perception and more. Recently, it comes to know that Google and one of the biggest Taiwanese manufacturers ‘Foxconn’ collaborated to bring robotics technologies to the manufacturing sector.


Being a leading Taiwanese manufacturer, Foxconn is reportedly helping Google to carry-out its vision for robotics, and in return Google is going to help the manufacturer to deploy robotics in its factories. When Google started purchasing some robotics companies last year, shortly after it, Andy Rubin take his step back from his role as Android chief to focus on Google’s plans for robotics.

Before, he moved on from his job he said that Google’s direct goals for robotics did not mainly focusing on regular consumers, but it will mainly focus on manufacturing and logistic sector as these are the primary target of the company.

As per the latest report from WSJ, it comes to know that Rubin as well as the team is now teaming up with Foxconn so that they can brinf their robotics technologies to manufacturing sector. Providing more information on Foxconn, it is one of the biggest manufacturers, producing technology equipment for Microsoft, Apple and other popular companies.

Now, Google has made a sturdy push for its robotics plans, purchasing many new companies last year to help the company to make it possible. Rubin is one such person, who made his name on Android, now directing the robotics plan.

Google has in-depth knowledge about how to considerably advance Foxconn’s automation efforts and this company’s huge factory occurrence offers a perfect test bed for Google. It appears that Google is happy to make a push on its robotics plan on manufacturing and other corporate-focused areas.

Google has given the importance to Foxconn in the technology space as both the companies are working to together to some degree. The combined effort from both the companies is all about speeding up the robotics development for both companies, according to the Journal’s sources.
