Google Drive integration Simplifies New API with Android Applications

Good news for developers!! Now, Google makes easier for developers to integrate their application in its storage service Drive through the latest API. Having the new API, it becomes more possible for experts to enjoy better performance with marvelous features than android drive integration in the past, said by Google developer advocate Magnus Hyttsten in his blog.

Java-based Drive Android API, the native version is still under development. However, developers can test a previous version that has in Play Services 4.1. With this API, developers can easily use storage on the device, if it is not connected to the network. According to Hyttsten, the main thing is that one shouldn’t have to worry about failed API calls when his/her device is offline or experiencing network connectivity problems.

If any problem occurs at that time, data stored locally and after that, it will be transferred to Drive by Android’s sync scheduler at the time of connectivity is reestablished. In this API, one can find specialized functionality for interacting with files that stored on Drive and of course, Android user interfaces components. The Drive Android API is supportable with smartphones and tablets that runs on Android 2.3 and later versions of the OS.

Hyttsten also said that API’s addition will have some effect on the total application size. Additionally, applications that compiled by using the preview version will persist working on device that using future versions of Play services. But, some changes of the UI will be expected in future releases that simply means developers have to rewrite their apps to take of that.

We all know that online storages are a packed field and Google is not only company that wants to make their service more useful by opening third party app integration. For instance, you will see a number of APIs are offered by Dropbox for Android app developers and other platform as well. According to Dropbox’s website, Dropbox might add functionality of saving files from third party Android or iOS apps soon.

Now Google Developers can easily integrate their application in Google Drive with latest API. This latest API makes possible for developers to enjoy a collection of unexpected features and better performance as well. So enjoy this feature, by hiring Google developers from Android Development Experts
