Intel Confirms 64-Bit Android Based Tablet That Will Be Available in 2014

Recently in the meeting with investors, Intel confirmed about the world’s first media tablet that based on Android platform. The tablet is expected to be powered by its Atom processor based on 64-bit Atom processor that relies on Silverman micro-architecture. Intel is the world’s biggest and most popular chipmaker that claims its 64-bit capability low-power microarchitecture will surely offer wonderful performance to its users.

The company also confirmed that it is developing a 64-bit version of the Android 4.4 kitkat OS, which will work with Bay Trail Chips, said CEO Brain Krzanich in the meeting with investors in Santa Clara, California. The world’s first 64-bit media table that runs on Android will be obtainable in the year 2014 after the launch of 64-bit Windows 8.1 tablet that will be launched in the first quarter of next year.

Brain Krzanich, a CEO of Intel, said “What we are doing with our product roadmap and SoCs is that we drive to lower costs and profitable stages But that is not enough What we really want to do is to take a lot of the innovation and differentiation we are able to do up on the PC and bring that down into tablets”.

In the meeting with investors, the company also promised to bring some exceptional and innovative into the field of ultra-mobile devices. The excellent thing of such advances is enclosure of 64-bit general-purpose processing capability into current-generation of Intel Atom “Silverman” cores. As per the Intel spokesperson, 64-bit tech along can bring up to 40% performance boosts to applications such as Adobe Photoshop.

Still, the current “32-bit mode” Intel Atom seems to provide excellent performance as per the Intel. The company is also working to cut-down the cost; therefore, addressing new markets. When it comes to talk about the 64-bit tablet, it will enable users to address more memory more than the 4GB limitation in many cases for 32-bit processors. It is not enough as this device also allows data-intensive applications to handle large chunks of data wonderfully than 32-bit.

As we all know that Apple’s latest devices like smart-phones and tablets are the world’s first devices that powered by 64-bit A7 processors. These devices are extremely faster than their predecessors. Still, they only have two processing cores, but the all new desktop-class architecture of the A7 offers huge improvements in processing power as well as graphics.

At the end of meeting, Brain Krzanich, chief executive officer of Intel, said “You will see tablets with Intel inside as early as this holiday at price-points below $100. We will expand from upper end - $350 - $400 - down to $100”. So, all the tablet lovers just crossed their fingers and get ready to acquire wonderful Android based 64-bit tablet that will be launched in the year 2014.
