Google's Upcoming Android L Features Default Data Encryption for Better Security

The upcoming Android operating system from Google will encrypt data by default as the company has worked hard to make its OS a lot safer and secure than before. So, Apple is not the only company that making its OS secure and fed-proof, Google’s upcoming Android platform will be encrypted by default as per the Washington Post.

Since 2011, Android has provided an optional encryption on some of the devices, but very number of experts is known how to turn on the feature. Moreover, the company is also trying its hands on designing the activation procedures for new Android devices in order to make encryption automatically.

When someone will enter the password, he/she will be able to see the pictures, communications stores on those smart-phones and videos. We all know that Android is one of the most popular operating systems for smart-phone and it offers a degree of protection, which looks like what Apple on Wednesday began offering for iPhones, a biggest competitor of Android operating system.

Now, we can say that both the company holds encryption that is not possible for other law enforcement officials to collect evidence from smart-phone even when establishment get lawfully compulsory search warrants.

The company’s spokeswoman Niki Christoff said “For over three years Android has offered encryption, and keys are not stored off of the device, so they cannot be shared with law enforcement.” She also added “As part of our next Android release, encryption will be enabled by default out of the box, so you won't even have to think about turning it on.”

It was one such move that has been in the works for past several months, but finally, it is part of a broad shift by American technology companies as these companies wanted to make their products more opposed to government snooping in the result of disclosures of National Security Agency spying by former contractor Edward Snowden.

Google and Apple expanded the use of encryption, and it will give a huge impact on law enforcement officials, who have warned from past several months that restrictions on their accessing make it extremely difficult to prevent and solve crimes.

In short, we can say that Google’s this move of bringing automatic encryption solution that known as Android L OS is for pushing its improvements in data security so that millions of users worldwide do not get any problem.
