According to Intel, it
has been collaboration of Google with Intel for making a reference
tablet for Android developers and manufacturers. The main aim of
Intel is to make easier for manufacturers to launch Intel-based
Android tablets in the market as soon as possible.
A single binary image for
Android will be provided by the company through the Intel Reference
Design Program, Doug Fisher, VP and general manager of Intel’s
Software and Services division, said through official Intel Blog.
Moreover, OEMs and ODMs
will be able to select from a complete BOM specification or a
pre-qualified set of components. In addition to, the company also
going to handle the certification process for Google Mobile Services.
Manufacturers don’t
have to do the leg work of developing a device which is the best for
Android as the laying out a pre-approved list of parts and taking
care of GMS certification is totally done by this reference tablet.
After that, it also applies for certification from Google.
The best thing about
manufacturers is they can get their device into production faster
than before that means they can sell device faster too. It also
delivers more consistent Android experience for users all thanks to
level of consistency at the hardware level.
Apart from, Intel also
assures its users to get guaranteeing updates for Intel Reference
Design for Android devices within 15 days of AOSP updates. This
company is also providing the service after 2 years of its launch.
According to Intel, they are going to ship 100 Android devices based
